Blizzard Entertainment is known as king when it comes to online MMORPG games, and World of Warcraft is their “cash cow.” Various estimations of around 10-15 million people continue to support this online game. Those just starting out will begin by purchasing the classic version, and then adding expansions (Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King) along the way.
The newest version being released later in 2010 will be the Cataclysm expansion. Gamers who have reached level 80 and properly geared their characters will gain access to new dungeons, weapons and armor, as well as several other benefits. You will also be able to fly your mounts in the classic areas, create new characters like the Worgen (Alliance) and Goblin (Horde), and see how the Cataclysm even turned World of Warcraft upside down.
World of Warcraft is a fantasy world within cyberspace that gives you the opportunity to complete quests for experience (XP), explore dungeons, battlegrounds, and even arenas where real cash can be won. Plus you have the opportunity to train primary and secondary professions, get faster mounts, or sell items in the Auction House.
However, the game itself is based on progression. This means you will have to spend time creating and developing whatever class you choose. It begins with deciding on what faction you will be playing (Alliance or Horde). Once the decision is made there will be various “Races” on both sides:

Alliance
* Human
* Dwarf
* Gnome
* Night Elf
* Draenei (Note: you will only be able to use this class after you purchase the Burning Crusade expansion)
Horde
* Orc
* Troll
* Undead
* Tauren
* Blood Elf (Note: See Draenei)
When you’ve made your decision you will come across various “Classes” to play, but you can only choose one per character. They are:
Death Knight (Note: You must have a level 55 character currently on your account to create a Death Knight)
Druid
Hunter
Mage
Paladin
Priest
Rogue
Shaman
Warlock
Warrior
After you pick your class you can click “Enter World.” This is where the journey begins.
