Chambers man, get the game. They just brought out the newest patch for the game which reduces the lag greatly, and now there is no bullet lag whatsoever.

Its up to you really. The second gears had some major plot points in terms of the storyline, but realistically the third game should catch you up on where the story currently is. Its a fun single player campaign so I would recommend renting it and playing through, but it might be kind of a waste to buy since the multiplayer isn’t very great in my opinion.

Can you play the horde mode in single player if you don’t want to play online. Sort of how Ghost Recon was. If you didn’t want to play campaign you could just do terrorist hunt or something. Thanks!
little big planet and killzone 2 are gonna be crap. lil big planet looks like a childs game and i have killzone 1 and im not impressed

All of the consoles are still relitively new.
We still have (around) 4 more years of games in this gen.
The Unreal engine will evolve, and Gears will go with it.
As with Other games that use that engine. (Aliens: CM, Bioshock, ect.)
Besides, I see MS working on a new console right now. The 360 was a tad rushed, I’ll admit. But it is really good for the work that was put in it.
Good point, but with the xbox’s hardware(dont mean to bash my own console) i doubt we will ever see anything more than waht Gears has already done.
They didn’t need to do much. The game was fucking beautiful from the start.
It STILL looks better than a lot of NEW games.
All they really needed to improve was the specular light reflections, so the game wasn’t so damn dark. They did that.
Uh, graphics? Compare Gears 1 and this Gears 2 vid and youll see why thay have not improved much.
